Characteristics of the vintage
The 2020 vintage is defined as a very early vintage, with high average yields for the area, obtaining around 5000 kg/ha in our Garnacha and Tempranillo. In Syrah the average was 6000 kg/ha.
Climatically the year had a high rainfall, around 500 litres/year, 200 litres above average. It was a warm year but without extreme temperatures and heat shocks.
Fortunately, there were no hail incidents in the area. The health status was excellent…

Characteristics of the plots
Succinct, ferric clayey soil with colluvium in Garnacha with trellis training. Succinct clayey soil with quartzite in Miguel de Arco with goblet training. Mountain vineyard located at an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level in different areas of Rubielos de Mora and BƔguena (Teruel). The vines are between 12 and 50 years old.
Vinification
In stainless steel tanks of 2000 and 3000 litres. Whole grapes destemmed and not crushed. Maceration for three weeks with punching down of the grapes for delicate extraction of tannins and colour.
Ageing
6 months in 400 litre barrels of different ages. After ageing in barrels, the wine is transferred to concrete tanks where it is aged for a further 3 months.
